Botanical forms reflect the natural beauty and wondrous diversity of nature. Early Christmas trees were decorated with items from nature, and special treats of the season. Glass botanical ornaments reflect back to these earlier times, and to the legends that all trees and flowers bloom in celebration of the birth of the Christ Child.

Wheat This head of wheat is a beautiful and unusual ornament. Note its length. Wheat was the traditional symbol of the Ukraine, the wheat belt of the Soviet Union. However, one cannot forget the words of Christ - " I am the bread of life" - and wonder if the symbolism had dual meaning for this piece. There is some internal darkening of the ornament, as seen at the top. The overall color is deep gold. The complex mold is in excellent condition. |
